Myeloma- where are we in 2020?
February 25 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm
Myeloma- where are we in 2020? Presented by Dr. Tony Calogero, Haematologist
What will this lecture cover?
In this talk, we will review the current tools we use in making a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma, as well as those we use in assessing prognosis. We will touch on the current treatment options we have available in Australia, as well as looking at what is on the horizon in terms of new treatments. Clinical snippets and case summaries will be used to highlight important points, and allow Tony to relate his personal experiences in managing Myeloma.
Tony is a dual trained clinical/laboratory haematologist, with special interests in medical education (including investigating and improving mechanisms of keeping patients informed during their cancer journey), as well as advancing cancer care and cancer outcomes in the rural and remote setting. He has substantive sessional appointments at Royal Perth Hospital and SJOG Midland Hospital. Tony is also the Clinical Lead for Haematology for the WA Cancer and Palliative Care Network (WACPCN), and has recently been appointed as the Director of Haematology for the WA Country Health Service (WACHS).
