Have your say on Australia’s Digital Health blueprint

The Department of Health is asking doctors and other health providers to share their thoughts on digital health services.

The DoH is asking GPs and other health care providers to join an online survey, which aims to better understand our digital health needs. The survey takes about 12 minutes to complete and should be completed by Sunday 4 April.

The key aim of the survey is to “set a direction to deliver better health outcomes and experiences for those accessing health services within Australia, while helping health professionals to deliver their services,” as described in the survey webpage.

The ultimate goal is to create a more efficient and user-friendly digital health system, accessible to all health care providers. The result of this survey will inform and guide policy makers on specific aspects of our digital health infrastructure that need change or improvement.

Some of the questions included in the survey include:

  • “Where do you go for information on digital health technologies?”
  • “To what extent do you think consumers are able to be in charge of their healthcare decisions?”
  • “To what extent do you think data collected from consumers from different sources are being used to help personalise diagnoses and treatments in Australia?”
  • “How frequently do you use digital tools or services as part of your work?”
  • “How do you think the use of technology in the Australian healthcare system compares to other developed countries?”
  • “How important do you think it is that all healthcare providers are using digital health technologies?”
  • “What is the first step that would increase usage of digital health technologies among healthcare providers?”

If you think that answering these questions is a worthwhile investment of your time, head to this website to fill out the survey:
