Genetic testing for diabetic complications

Two million Australians have diabetes and a third of people with diabetes develop serious complications that have a significant impact on quality of life and impose a high economic toll.  

One of the complications of diabetes is diabetic kidney disease (DKD), the leading cause of kidney failure in developed countries. Treating DKD costs Australia $2.68 billion annually.
