AusBiotech announced that Prof Fiona Wood will become a director.

Perth Imaging, WA's only remaining independent WA radiology service, is to merge with Perth Radiological Clinic (part of DCA Group Ltd). DCA will pay cash for Perth Imaging, whose general manager Michael Tait has moved to a CEO position with Rocky Bay. Marketing manager for Perth Rad Eric Hardy has also moved on. At the same time, Drs Geoff Bower and Joe Cardaci, previously operating as Isotope Imaging, have parted company.

John Kelly has been promoted to the position of Chief Operating Officer at Unilife Medical Solutions, with its Unitract safety syringe portfolio. Stan Mcliesh has resigned as non-executive director. Prior to joining Unilife, Mr Kelly spent five years at RedMed where he held a number of management roles in the areas of operations and product development.

Dalton Gooding has been appointed as the non-executive director for Visiomed Group Ltd.

Following the departure of Seamus McGeever, the new Johnson & Johnson WA State Manager is Brigitte Cronan, previously Ethicon product specialist with the company.

After four and a half years with Cottman Australia, Jeff Lewis, who is based in WA, has resigned as general manager. CEO Adrian Loader and National Operations Manager Troy Street will continue the role in his absence.

Bentley-based veterinary medical technology company Chemeq Ltd posted a half-year net loss of $13.6m to December 31 2005, as it works its way through the commercialisation process for its technology.

Subiaco biomedical company Clinical Cell Culture Ltd reported a $5.6m loss for the December half of the 2006 financial year. Investors have shown a loss of confidence as C3 fails to secure burns product sales, with share price falling from 35c in November last year to around 16.5c recently.

Nedlands-based ophthalmic technology company Advanced Ocular Systems has expanded its technology portfolio to include anti-inflammatory treatments for eye disease and secured a $1.4m Commercial Ready grant from AusIndustry for their work in treating eye disease.

Prime Health Group has further expanded its interests in the corporate health sector by acquiring RMS Corporation. The acquisition means that Prime has nearly doubled in size, with about 150 staff across six clinics since John Poynton bought the business from Endeavour Health Care in 2004.

IBA Health Ltd has announced a $6.84m licence agreement with Malaysia's leading hospital information solution provider, Solutions Protocol Sdn Bhd to provide IBA's hospital information solution to a further two hospitals as part of the Malaysian Ministry of Health nationwide roll-out to 13 public hospitals.
