Grant opportunity for general practitioners

Learn all about the 2022 RACGP Foundation CommBank Health practice owners’ education grants.


The RACGP and CommBank Health have joined forces to improve the financial well-being of Australia’s GPs.  According to a RACGP announcement, the partnership seeks to provide financial tools, services and education for GPs at all stages of their careers.

As part of this new partnership, CommBank Health and the RACGP Foundation are offering GPs across Australia the opportunity to apply for an education grant package.

Grant details
Currently, there are ten grants available, each valued at AUD$2,000 and they include:

  • One registration to the RACGP Practice Owners National Conference in Hobart on 14–15 May 2022.
  • One registration to a Practice Owners Masterclass, a one-day interactive workshop to guide doctors through the development of a successful business and strategic plan.
  • Social Media Training (9-part digital course)
  • Practice Health Check – full review of financial, operational and personal wealth of practice owners, delivered by William Buck.

To be eligible for this grant, the applicant needs to be a general practitioner and a practice owner. Preference will be given to GPs who care for patients with low socioeconomic status, from vulnerable populations and/or with complex care needs.

The key selection criteria for this grant program are:

  • Demonstration of potential benefit to the practice owner 40%
  • Demonstration of potential benefit to the practice and it patients 40%
  • Practice services patients with lower socioeconomic status, vulnerable populations and/or complex care needs 20%
