Esperance GP Dr Louise Pearn has been made a fellow of the Australian College of Rural and Rem,ote Medicate.
The former Director of the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research, Prof Peter Klinken, is the new Chief Scientist of WA. He will begin his new appointment on July 1 and will also continue his leukaemia research.
Mr Lou Panaccio, a non-executive director of Sonic Healthcare, will take on the chairmanship of biotech company Avita Medical. He replaces the interim chair Mr Ian Macpherson after the resignation of Mr Dalton Gooding late last year. Mr Gooding stepped down after a shareholder revolt over the company’s remuneration report at November’s AGM.
