Dr Peter Goldswain, former clinical lead for the Aged Care Health Network, retired from the public health system in January 2009. He, along with co-lead Gail Milner, led the Network through a consultation and development process which resulted in the production of seven models of care for the older person. Dr Hannah Seymour, a consultant geriatrician, has been appointed clinical advisor to the Aged Care Policy Directorate and Clinical Lead for the Aged Care Health Network. Hannah was formerly the Clinical Co-Lead for the Falls Prevention Health Network, which works closely with the Aged Care Network.

Health Consumer Council CEO and Medical Forum editorial panel member Michele Kosky AM was named a Member of the Order of Australia for her health care advocacy work.
Dr Karin Margolius has been named a finalist for WA Citizen of the Year Awards (in the Community Service Award category). St John of God Health Care's Dr Michael Stanford is a finalist in the Professions category, Dr Penny Flett is a finalist in the Industry and Commerce category, and Brightwater Care Group, Carers WA, Breast Cancer Foundation of WA, Leukaemia Foundation of WA, The Multiple Sclerosis Society of WA, and the Amanda Young Foundation are finalists in the Gold Swan Award.
